Local Attractions & Things to do

There are plenty of things to do and attractions to see whilst you enjoy your stay in North Devon. Whether you want to sit and relax on a beach, or something more adventurous, you should have no trouble finding something to interesting and fun to do.

Many are within walking distance.  There are many other things to do a short drive away North Devon, Dunster Castle, National Trust's Arlington Court, RHS Rosemoor to something wilder like Surfing or an Exmoor Safari

For steam train enthusiasts the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway operates from Woody Bay Station located three miles from Lynton.

Opposite Lynmouth Harbour is the Flood Memorial Hall. This permanent exhibition includes a scale model of the village pre-flood, along with images of the buildings which were destroyed and how to identify their sites

The Lynton Museum is housed in one of the oldest buildings in the old town of Lynton, showing collections of agricultural and domestic tools from Lynton and Exmoor also including maritime, railway, and natural history.

Cascading waters at Watersmeet and surrounding flora and fauna. The house used to be a fishing lodge, originally built in 1852.  It is now owned by the National Trust; these days it is used as an information centre, tea room and shop by the National Trust.
