Born 1957 Weston-super-Mare, Somerset , England. Clare Hooper qualified with a University Bachelors Degree in 1978. Starting her teaching career in London before moving to Basel, Switzerland to teach Physical Education, Drama and English (1979 1994.) Whilst based in Basel, she travelled extensively in Europe, Asia and America, extending her passion for working with colours in different art forms, and evolved her own particular style of creating exciting and dynamic expressions of her infectious energy on large canvases. In 1994 she moved to Italy, where she now has her home and studio in the coastal Mediterranean village of San Felice Circeo (near Rome). Hoopers Artwork was first exhibited in 1997 , Dordrecht, Holland. Her consequent success prompting the opening of her first Gallery in Circeo 1998, the second Gallery in Porto Rotondo, Sardegna 2006. Clares unique art form represents the sparkling and effervescent view of her approach to life. Each piece of work is a canvas of joy and energy, which communicates her vibrant character and natural vitality. She paints with the confidence of a 'free spirit', her still life flowers are anything but still, and are full of optimism and colour
