Arthur Claridge

Arthur Claridge

Arthur was born in 1942 and is an ex-member of a Rhythm and Blues band.

He works mainly in the medium of oil and has had several of his paintings produced as gift cards and prints. His subject matters are the life around him and he now spends his time capturing on canvas his favourite landscape subjects, in particular, Provence in the South of France and Italy, some interior views and still life.

Captivated by light, the shadows and patterns it creates, and by colour, rich or delicate, and the moods that these can evoke. He strives to keep images as simple as possible but with incredible detail in places. His pictures are also produce on art cards and more recently delightful sepia images full of shadows and depth.
