He says
I manipulate an image digitally; which is up loaded to a laser machine and etched onto wood. I go to work on the piece with different colours, stains and layers of lacquer to create the image I have in my mind. When satisfied with the image, a final layer of lacquer is applied followed by a hand polished finish . Each piece is signed and marked with my thumb print. No two pieces can ever be the same and therefore every piece is unique
Rob Bishop is a Hertfordshire based artist who studied graphic design and model making at University. For the past few years he has worked as a cabinet maker and by combining all his skills he has developed a unique style of artwork that has caught public attention. His new Iconograph range has sold so well that he was signed-up by Buckingham Fine Art and was launched nationwide.

Rob uses a mixed media approach to his originals which combines etching on to maple wood with some degree of digital manipulation. He applies many layers of lacquer and stain and produces either a large one-off original or a series of 10 whereby each image is hand finished and coloured to ensure uniqueness in every piece. Each image is then signed and thumb printed.

Now working as an independent exhibiting his pieces exclusively in select galleries throughout the UK.
Original Variation (OV) is one of a series of 10 Originals using the same reference image. Each is an Original in its own right as they are created and painted from scratch.
