Art on Exmoor since 1893
Moors, Fells, Mountains, Harbours and interesting buildings and townscapes are the topics that appeal to me when looking for subject matter. I doubt, however that this will remain static as I suspect the whole range of styles and subject matter will expand in front of me. Initially paintings were produced using watercolours which I favoured for their immediacy and potential for happy accidents, but recently oil painting has captured some of my interest with their richness of colour and adaptability when applied to these scenes.
Both have had steep learning curves and I suppose will continue this way for the rest of my painting time.
For the moment I have sufficient sketches and themes to keep me going for some years to come but habitually cannot resist the temptation to get out there and find more.
