Raft Race 11/08/18

Lynmouth Annual Raft Race

A couple of hours of light heart family fun. The rafts first gather at Lynmouth coach park for a parade which starts at about 4.30. Commentary is by Tarka Radio as the parade goes towards the harbour.

The rafts are then launched in the harbour and paddle out into the Lyn River and upstream to the footbridge. at this time the Lyn Lions sell flour bombs, these may be thrown at the rafts and crews. Once the rafts have assembled under the footbridge the race can start down the River Lyn into the Bristol Channel under the footbridge while being flour bombed.
